The Study Of Jingchu Artistic Elements Applied On Wuhan Metro Public Arts.

The recent development and construction of Wuhan metro network provides a favorable showcase and help to promote public arts exposure.The public arts in metro spaces can improve city ornamentation while it also reflects the culture heritage and impression of the city.The Jingchu culture has been incubated in land of Wuhan since antiquity,however,correlated Jingchu artistic elements are required to blend into artworks in public metro spaces to highlight Jingchu culture.Therefore a study has been carried out to summarize and analyze current Jingchu artistic elements reflected in public metro space artworks which may leads to ideas for new design.First of all,the basic concept of Jingchu artistic elements was clarified according to publications,with follow up investigations on existence and future prospective of public metro spaces artworks in relation to Jingchu artistic elements.Secondly,the analysis of current status of public metro artworks across the country reveals that majority of public metro art creations are sourced from local historical legacies,which demonstrated the importance of public space artworks studies since Wuhan culture is dominant form of extensive and profound Jingchu culture.Advantage and disadvantage can also be seen by compare with other public metro artwork developments around the world.Thirdly,carry out detailed analysis systematically on Jingchu characteristics widely existed in Wuhan metro line 2 and line 4,with emphasis on the origin and presentation.Fourthly,find out dominant source of Jingchu artistic elements through reasoning the summarized results.Thus,the statement can be made that Jingchu artistic elements are sourced from diverse aspects over time.Such as historical impacts,natural landscape,celebrity effect as well as communist culture.In addition,the principle of designing these artistic elements can be proposed as follows: macroscopically unity while microcosmically differentiate,also it requires to be interactive and sustainable.Therefore the designing flaws of current Jingchu style artworks existed in Wuhan metro public spaces can be renovated via utilizing summarized highlights such as artwork presentation,environment adaption and makeup materials.On site visit introduced can also help to establish the connection between public metro space and surroundings.By extract and combining artistic elements after accordingly evaluation,new creation on metro public space artworks with authentic and original design can be produced.The research on Jingchu style public metro artworks was accomplished throughout this project,the preliminary understanding in in principle and application of artistic elements in Wuhan metro public space designing designing was established,which may shed a light on future Jingchu style designing in in public metro spaces.
