The Study About Jiachen With Its Development In Spring And Autumn Period

At present,the academic circles have achieved a lot of research results about Jiachen(a kind of retainers in Zhou Dynasty)in the Spring and Autumn Period,but there are still a lack of further discussions on some important issues.Based on the research of the previous scholars,this dissertation will further analyze the issues of the identity of the “Shudafu”,the relationship between the Qingdafu(a kind of aristocrats in Zhou Dynasty)and the Jiachen,and the rebellions of Jiachen.Therefore,this dissertation focuses on the above three issues and is divided into three chapters for discussion.The first chapter mainly discusses the issue,the identity of “Shudafu” in the Spring and Autumn Period.It discusses the identity of the “Shudafu”,analyzes the time of using the title “Shudafu”,analyzes the disadvantages of the predecessors' articles on the issue of “Shudafu” identity,and has a comprehensive analysis on the“Shudafu” in the Zuozhuan(Spring and autumn annals).Therefore,we will have a recognition on a special appearance that the “Shudafu” has an identity of duality.The second chapter mainly discusses the relationship between the Qingdafu and the Jiachen in the Spring and Autumn Period.In the face of the Jiachen with complex sources,the Qingdafu rely on the patriarchal clan system and the “Ceming Weizhi” to form a relationship with the Jiachen.The patriarchal clan system is based on the influence of kinship,and the “Ceming Weizhi” is a kind of pledge on the basis of the deity worship.So under the constraints of the patriarchal clan system and the deity worship,the Qingdafu firmly controls the Jiachen,and maintains a stable relationship.However,due to the dissolution of the patriarchal clan system and the decline of the deity worship in the late Spring and Autumn Period,the relationship between the Qingdafu and the Jiachen has gradually changed.The third chapter mainly discusses the rebellions of Jiachen in the Spring and Autumn Period.In the Spring and Autumn Period,besides the rebellions in the VassalState Lu,the rebellions in Jin,Qi and Wei were also recorded in documents.Through a comparative analysis of the rebellions in different vassal state,we can find some characteristics of the rebellions.Exploring the roots of these characteristics,we can find the factors which led to these rebellions.
