| In recent years,issues such as environmental pollution,waste disposal,and biodiversity have plagued the healthy development of the society and the public.Environmental issues are also one of the public issues most concerned by the public on social networks.At the same time,the film called "The Seventh Art"(Giotto Canoudu,1911),as a popular public cultural consumption method,has gradually increased as the film box office has accumulated year by year,and the film market has been vertically divided.Different from the independent screening of commercial theaters.Independent screening and independent viewing,because of their different characteristics from the physical space of commercial theater,and the source and organization of film sources,have a strong individual style and sensitivity to public topics,and have become a special phenomenon worthy of attention and discussion.From the perspective of urban space,this paper will target independent exhibitions to a specific type of medialized emerging urban space,that is,the physical space on which the independent exhibition is to be based,as a media space where film media and urban space are infiltrated and merged with each other.)Combined with a case study on the theme of "Hong Kong-Pearl River Delta Environmental Film Exhibition"("Environmental Protection Film Festival")featuring the theme of environmental protection,we will examine how the film festival is based on independent screening as the subject of activity,supplemented by independent film shooting camps,and ecological art.Non-screening activities such as parades are different from those of other independent screenings,paying particular attention to the role of the film festival in stimulating public life in media space and forming a communicable city.This paper analyzes the case of the Hong Kong-PRD Environmental Film Festival,in addition to placing relevant documents on "Media Space" and "Independent Screening",and pays special attention to the visual uniqueness of the independent screening media space.The role of public life,therefore,the paper uses the visual material analysis framework established by Gillian Rose,author of "Visual Methodology",and regards "visual production field-visualcontent field-visual viewing field" as the analysis main axis.In 3 years,38 PRD environmental film exhibitions were launched as “visual” analysis objects for the purpose of organizing the basic framework of this research discovery.The study found that: 1)The greatest feature of the production and organization model of the Hong Kong-PRD Environmental Film Festival is the spatial transcendence,which distinguishes itself from the majority of independent screening by cooperating with different institutions and intervening in different types of cities.Space and its public life.However,the characteristics of trans-continentality also make its public defects more obvious: in the context of urban communication in Hong Kong,individual actors whose core services are community services are the living cells of Hong Kong’s organic civil society,and they are actively involved in social aspects.It forms a good interaction with urban space and plays an important role in bridging the society and promoting the vitality of Hong Kong.However,in the Mainland,due to the differences in the systems of the two places,environmental protection film exhibitions are difficult to intervene in public spaces such as urban street plazas,and it is difficult to intervene in the education system,making the functionality of environmental education greatly reduced;2)The second feature of environmental film exhibitions is public events.The thematic and environmental protection film selections are not limited to the subject of “small environmental protection” topics of environmental pollution,but also include “big environmental protection” themes of biodiversity,city and food,food and class;these
