The novel Saturday,written by the contemporary British writer Ian McEwan,describes the various Utopian complex of the protagonist Perowne,her daughter Daisy and a low class person Baxter.The neurosurgeon Henry Perowne has rational complex,technical Utopian complex and ethical Utopian complex,Baxter has literary Utopian complex and Daisy has political Utopian complex.Perowne's Utopian complex made him make the noble choice in his ethical choice,he forgave a perpetrator.Baxter's Utopian complex saved his life and inspired his desire for life and his hope to live.Daisy's Utopian complex shows her pursuit of human rights and the pursuit of freedom and democracy.Utopian complex is a kind of complex to long for a beautiful dream,and to long for a better society without oppression.Ernst Bloch's hope philosophy suggests that hope is not a dispensable thing,it is an inherent human need rooted in human nature.Human nature is full of hope and yearning for the future.The mission of philosophy is to awake the Utopian ability full of emotions of hope in the hearts of people.The protagonist Perowne has rational complex,technical Utopian complex and ethical Utopian complex.Perowne's family is both the owner and the occupant of science and technology.Perowne has been enjoying the success of operation on the operating table,as if the more perfect medical equipment can cure all illness and it brings hope to people.The richer material enables people to lead a richer and more convenient life,and the technology has changed people's life.The technical Utopian complex reflects the important role of science and technology and the role of experts in the development of human society.It represents the specific spirit of the time and the humanistic appeal of natural science development.When there was a conflict between classes,Baxter's criminal behavior should be prosecuted.But Perowne not only gave up the prosecution,but also carried out surgical treatment to Baxter.Perowne's sympathy and forgiveness to the lower class people Baxter of the society shows the protagonist's ethical choice.Ethics obedience to reason is the meaning of life and the premise and guarantee of human happiness.Baxter has literary Utopian complex.Literary has the function of imagination and sympathy.Daisy read poetry which lets the perpetrator reined in,she saved her family and the assailant,which also shows that the poetry is the largest and best development of a person's imagination,and a person's imagination can bring his hope for life,optimism,passion and love.Poetry lets people have the weapons to fight against the materialization,commercialization,utilitarianism which life brings to our life in the society.Baxter sprouted a desire for life because of a poem,thereby he gave up making a chump out of Daisy,which shows the importance of human spiritual world and the importance of poetry in life.Political Utopia is a hopeful social formation in which the politic is no longer dark and the politicians are bent to human development.After the 911 incident,there were two factions of the pro and anti-war groups in the society.Daisy's strong antiwar emotion expressed a yearning for the social formation of political Utopian.In the social formation of political Utopian society,human life is the first and the most precious thing.The debate between Daisy and Perowne highlighted her opposition to the war and her desire for peace.When Daisy was arguing with her father,she was pregnant,so she knew the value of life in particular.From this point of view,opposing war means respecting life.The freedom and boldness of Daisy's poems also shows a freedom of speech and expresses the affirmation of human rights in a political Utopian formation.Freedom of speech can create more excellent poetry.Daisy's freedom of speech is a kind of affirmation of human rights and the pursuit of freedom and democracy.Utopia is always the light of human hope.In the novel,the various Utopian complex of the protagonist's family reflects the yearning and pursuit of a better society.The emergence of all kinds of social contradictions inspired people's desire for Utopia,which is a beautiful hope and a driving force for a better tomorrow.Utopian complex,as a kind of mankind's eternal yearning for a better tomorrow,has a great influence on human life experience.
