Mental health has always been a concern in the world. Therefore, under the guidance of my tutor, the translator chose the translation of Promoting Student Mental Health: A guide for UC Faculty and Staff as translator's practice report. It aims to provide correct mental health guidance to the students and employees of University of California and promote the mental health of the students. This practice report consists of five chapters: Chapter One is task description, which comprises the introduction of the task background, the description of the purpose and the significance of the task practice.Chapter Two is process description, which introduces the task acception, task translation, task revision and task submission.Since the original text is the vocative text,Chapter Three mainly formulated the guiding principle of this translation activity according to the text function classification theory.Chapter Four is the case analysis part, which mainly uses the communicative translation theory as a guide to analyze the word translation and the sentence translation.Chapter Five is the summary of practice, which includes the experience and deficiency in the translation process and some unsolved problems.Through this translation practice, the translator realizes that the translation of the vocative text should be based on the meaning of the original text, and strive to make the translation accurate, fluent, and in line with the expression of the target language readers in order to achieve the purpose of the vocative text.
