Research On The Application Of Smart Phone In English Listening Teaching Of Senior High School

In recent years,more and more teachers and students pay close attention to the application of smart phone in language learning.Many scholars at home and abroad generally think the application of smart phone in English learning,especially in English listening,is greatly beneficial for learners to improve their English listening level.For most high school students,English listening is such a formidable obstacle that their performance in English listening appears to be unsatisfactory.Therefore,it has realistic significance in improving English listening teaching and promoting diversity of English listening training so as to improve students' listening ability.The thesis tries to design the teaching steps and strategies of smart phone-based listening teaching and analyze the feasibility and advantages of applying them in English listening teaching of high schools.At the beginning of the experiment,the author gives out questionnaires to students in two classes of Grade Two in Guizhou Provincial Experimental High School,aiming to learn about the related information on students' attitude towards English listening,their learning approaches and listening level.In addition,the author designs and conducts a pretest in these two classes.After that,these two classes are respectively divided into a controlled class and an experimental class.English listening teaching based on smart phone is applied in the experimental class,while the traditional teaching method is adopted in the controlled class.After completing the experiment,the author gives the posttest to the students in these two classes.Through the research,the author finds that the application of smart phone in listening teaching in high school not only enriches teaching models,but promote students' learning interest in learning English listening so that their listening ability can be improved.The author hopes teachers improve their teaching efficiency by getting a better understanding of the application of smart phone in listening teaching.
