With the rapid development of network technology and mobile communication technology,the application of portable electronic devices and computers in teaching has become a popular trend in recent times.Technological pedagogical and content knowledge is more and more concerned by researchers in the field of teaching with its scientific,advanced and active characteristics.The research and application of TPACK theory mainly focus on conceptual evolution,theoretical exploration,subject research and teacher training in higher education.Meanwhile reading is the most important part of English teaching in high school.Therefore,applying TPACK theory to high school English reading teaching can be used as a research topic in the reform of English digital teaching.The core of the research is how to use TPACK theory in high school English reading teaching to cultivate students' English thinking,reading ability and interest.There are research questions of this dissertation.1)To what extent will the students' English performance improve after the English reading teaching from the perspective of TPACK?2)To what extent does the student's English reading ability improve?3)Will the students' English reading interest be promoted?Based on literature survey,experimental method,data contrast analysis,questionnaires and interviews,this dissertation applies the TPACK theory to the English reading teaching in Class 246 in No.2 middle school of Gaoping by means of the portable electronic devices and WeChat platform to meet above-mentioned requirement.Firstly,students and teachers in Class 246 were surveyed in the preliminary questionnaire which mainly includes the popularity of the WeChat platform among students,students' cognition and evaluation of their own English proficiency and teachers' utilization degree of information teaching resources in the current classroom teaching.The results show that it is feasible to perform reading teaching experiments in this class.Then,the TPACK theory is applied in daily English reading teaching with the help of mobile electronic devices and WeChat platform.The teacher pushes texts,pictures,voices,resource links before they are covered in lectures.Students watch micro-lesson,study difficult language points and preserve teaching records in class.After class students have to do online testing and the teacher reviews and answers questions in real time.Through the teaching experiment of a term,post-questionnaires and interviews about students' comprehension ability,analytical ability and reading efficiency are conducted.Finally,students' test scores before and after the experiment and the results of the questionnaire are compared and analyzed through SPSS software and conclusions are drawn.1)The sig value is 0,less than 0.05,which proves that the teaching experiment is significant.2)95% of students have improved their English achievements and the average scores rise 20.33 points.3)86.6% of students have developed their English reading ability.4)80% of the students show an increased interest in English reading.The results prove that the application of TPACK theory in English reading teaching is feasible and advantageous.
