The Reaserch Of Wu Renchen And The Wide Note Of Shan Hai Jing

Wu Renchen is a famous scholar in the early Qing Dynasty,the Wide Note of Shan Hai Jing is one of his magnum opuses.It is known as the first monograph about Shan Hai Jing in the Qing Dynasty and it is not to be ignored in the academic genealogy of Shan Hai Jing.Therefore,Wu Renchen and the Wide Note of Shan Hai Jing are valuable topics which are the main research objects in this paper.Based on the collation of its text,combined with Wu Renchen's life and background of the times and the academic history of Shan Hai Jing,Wide Note's characteristics,achievements and influence could be discussed.This article is mainly composed of five parts: introduction,text,conclusion,appendix and plate.The introduction includes a brief introduction to the reason for the topic,the outline of the academic history of Shan Hai Jing,the appraisals of the Wide Note of Shan Hai Jing of Qing Dynasty scholars,and the research of today's scholars.The text is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is a general introduction of Wu Renchen and the Wide Note of Shan Hai Jing,including the restudy of the Wu Renchen's name,his natal and obituary year;the arrangement of Wu Renchen's life story,social intercourse,and his works;and the introduction of Wide Note's layout and versions.The notable feature of Wu Renchen's compositions is the numerous evidence in the book.Therefore,the second chapter mainly focuses on references in Wide Note.Applying literature statistic method,classified and analyzed the references in the wide note of Nan Shan Jing to explore the causes of its characteristics.The third chapter is to discuss the achievements and influence of Wide Note.Inthis book,Wu puts forward several principles of the research of Shan Hai Jing,which has an effect on subsequent scholars;He cited numerous books which can be literature resources and are convenient for research and compiling;Wu's explanation of Shan Hai Jing are valuable and is inherited by subsequent scholars.The three points we have talked above are the main contents of this chapter.The conclusion is a summary of the content discussed in this article.Appendix and plate are supplementary material for the text.The appendix is composed of two parts:the first part is the compiling of Liu Huimeng's the criticism of Shan Hai Jing,and the second part is the collation script about the miscellaneous compilation of Shan Hai Jing.The plate contains some photos about the important versions of Wide Note.
