Hu zi's series of poetic notes taken by the recluse of the brook tiao(The second half)refers 225 items of Fu Zhai Man Lu.The kernel of Fu Zhai Man Lu is poetic study and times it concerned are from eastern Jin dynasty to southern song dynasty.The author of Fu Zhai Man Lu was erudite and well acquainted with figures of contemporary literary world,which could be reflected by the literatures.Fu Zhai Man Lu recorded sophisticated and reliable affairs of renowned litterateurs and scholars.Its investigation of literary quotation and collection of lost works are worth studying.The author of the book is controversial.Li YuMin think the book was written by Wu Zeng,while Huang QiFang think the author was Gong Xiang.If the author were Wu Zeng,What's the difference between Fu Zhai Man Lu and Wu Zeng's Literary Reflections and Selections in Nenggaizhai Studio?In the book titled The reexamination of Si Ku Ti Yao,Li Yumin speculated that Fu Zhai Man Lu was a superinduced version of Literary Reflections and Selections in Nenggaizhai Studio,a book written by Wu Zeng.Even though,this paper found a contradiction.Some items of records remained in Neng gai Zhai Man Lu were not reamined in Fu Zhai Man Lu,which can be vertified by Hu Zi's comments,who was the first person has found the book.It's substantially confirmed that Fu Zhai Man Lu was not a superinduced version of Neng Gai Zhai Man Lu.Why Fu Zhai Man Lu and Neng Gai Zhai Man Lu have such similarity,what made a difference between the two books? The two questions should be answered.This paper aimed at detecting Fu Zhai's identity and experiences,Fu Zhai Man Lu's value and impacts.This paper attained 231 items of Fu Zhai Man Lu by extracting from Hu zi's series of poetic notes taken by the recluse of the brook tiao(The second half)and other literatures,of which 6 items are not refered in The second half and not recorded in Literary Reflections and Selections in Nenggaizhai Studio.225 items were extracted from The second half,of which 157 items are also recorded in Neng Gai Zhai Man Lu,but some of them were recorded differently.The overlapped items are different,apart that,affairs recorded in Literary Reflections and Selections in Nenggaizhai Studio were later than in Fu Zhai Man Lu,which didn't contain affairs occoured after 1145.Affairs included in Literary Reflections and Selections in Nenggaizhai Studio were later,occurred in 1148,1150,1156,1159,1162.Hu zi's series of poetic notes taken by the recluse of the brook tiao(The first half)were absent in Fu Zhai Man Lu,while are refered in Literary Reflections and Selections in Nenggaizhai Studio.Depending on those difference,author conclude that Fu Zhai Man Lu were accomplished earlier than Literary Reflections and Selections in Nenggaizhai Studio.This paper analysised three books which refer Fu Zhai directly or indirectly.They include Zeng Guang Jian Zhu Jian Zhai Shi Ji refering Wu Zeng's Fu Zhai Man Lu,Tang Yin Gui Jian refering Wu FuZhai,and Literary Reflections and Selections in Nenggaizhai Studio refering Wu Zeng's ancestor,who narrated a story similar to an item in Fu Zhai Man Lu.This paper speculate that Fu Zhai Man Lu was written by Wu Zeng's grandparent or father.It's very likely that Wu Zeng re-edited Fu Zhai Man Lu to abstract items into Neng Gai Zhai Man Lu.This paper found that the latest story recorded by Fu Zhai occurred between 1130 and 1135.Wu zeng started writting Literary Reflections and Selections in Nenggaizhai Studio in 1154,when Fu Zhai Man Lu had been accomplished.Given comprehensive consideration,We can conclude that Fu Zhai Man Lu were finished between 1130 to 1154.Fu Zhai's comments on several literatures remained in The Second half,which can reflect Fu Zhai's constructing circumstance.those literatures include The authology of Wei YingWu,The annotation for Du Fu's poetry by Deng ZhongChen,The authology of Du Fu and The authology of Su Shi.Fu Zhai's comments on those literatures reflects that he lived different times with Wu Zeng and Hu Zi,he was very likely earlier.this discovery is consistent with the conclusion that Fu Zhai was Wu Zeng's ancestor.
