In china,most studies about leadership style pay attention to the impact of single leadership style on the organization.However,due to the one-sidedness of the leadership style,the single leadership style often leads to some management problems.For example,single transformational leaders can easily cause the lack of coordination in the organization,and single transaction leaders can easily cause the drop of employees' work autonomy.As the environment faced by the organization is becoming more and more complex,single leadership style become more and more difficult to get the organization's continuous competitive advantage.More and more researchers begin to pay their attention to ambidextrous leadership based on the “both/and” cognitive model.The key to distinguishing ambidextrous leadership from single leadership is the leader's “ambidextrous” thinking.They perform better on cognitive and behavioral complexities,can accurately perceive the source of conflict,and respond appropriately,and constantly adjust their behavior and leadership style according to changes in circumstances to solve management problems.As an emerging field of leadership research,ambidextrous leadership adapts to the complex context because of rapid change.It reflects the demand of theory and practice for new leadership behavior strategies under specific environment.Therefore,it has great theoretical value and practical significance to systematically analyze ambidextrous leadership.Based on the contingency theory,this study conducts an empirical analysis of the relationship between the ambidextrous leadership style and subordinates' organizational commitments and work performance from the perspective of convention.This study adopted a convenient sampling method,through the 335 samples collected by the questionnaire star,using spss19.0 to analyze the data,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)ambidextrous leadership style can play a significant role in subordinates' work performance.(2)The organizational commitment of subordinates plays a partial intermediary role between ambidextrous leadership and their task performance and peripheral performance.(3)Emotional commitment of subordinates plays a complete intermediary role between the transformational leadership style and their task performance;emotional commitment and normative commitment of subordinates play a partial intermediary role between the transformational leadership style and their contextual performance;(4)Normative commitment of subordinates plays a partial intermediary role between transactional leadership style and their task performance,contextual performance;(5)The ambidextrous leadership style is superior to the single leadership style in the impact on the subordinate's contextual performance;However,the ambidextrous leadership style is better than the single transactional leadership style in terms of impact on the subordinate task performance,but the advantage over the single transformational leader is not significant.
