The Study Of Huang Yunhu And His Poetry

Huang Yunhu is a scholar in late-Qing dynasty,he is also the father of the famous modern scholar of Huang Kan.He had made great achievement in writing poems and prose.Huang Yunhu learned from many poets and finally formed his own style.He learned The Song of Chu and Anthology,strongly advocated that writing poems should focus on real feelings and emotion;and poems should have literary grace and artistic conception.Also,Huang Wunhu was getting very close to people from Tongcheng School,which devoted particular care to writing strategies,morality and scholarly attainments,and they praised highly on elegant and simple poems and prose.As a descendant of Huang Tingjian,Huang Yunhu learned after Fang Ruiyi,who loved to ready Du Fu,Han Yu,Su Shi's poems,therefore,Huang Yunhu's poems tended to be close to poems of Song dynasty.At the same time,Huang Yunhu intended to combine poems of Tang dynasty and Song dynasty together,which making him a pioneer of the later Tang-Song School.Huang Yunhu cared for the fate of his nation and life of people.His poems inherited the spirit of Du FU,reflecting his love for the country and care for the people.His poems have various features according to different subject like poems about pastoral landscape,about daily life,traveling,friends and family,etc.Poetry about friends are quite sincere;poetry mediating on the past are very rich and and deep.He came up with the idea of “real feelings and true emotion”,obeying the poetry educational concept of Confucian school that “Out of affection love begins,with courtesy it should be controlled”.He cared about people's suffering.In his poems,he expressed his thoughts and feelings,forming a style of fair and mild,classical and elegant.This style learned from poems of Han-Wei dynasty,with poems of Tang-Song dynasty.Huang Yunhu was good at expressing feelings and depicting things with implied meaning,and finally formed his special style of elegance,clearness,desolation and hardness.
