Multimedia assisted senior high school English teaching has become increasingly common in some areas.This paper aims to study the current situation of senior high school English teaching in multimedia environment and the teachers' reflection towards the multimedia assisted senior high school English teaching.It puts forward some recommendations for the improvement of multimedia assisted English teaching in senior high schools.Based on constructivism theory and student involvement theory,this paper adopts questionnaire survey method and classroom observation method.This paper also observes the lessons given by the four English teachers in grade one and grade two,trying to explore the current situation of high school English teaching in multimedia environment.In addition,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 30 English teachers who serve in No.3 senior high school and No.8 senior high school in Yili area,so as to figure out the teachers' ability to operate multimedia equipment,and their attitude towards multimedia assisted teaching,including their multimedia operation skill.This paper raises the following two research questions:1)What is the current situation of high school English teaching in multimedia environment?2)What is the teachers' reflection towards the multimedia assisted senior high school English teaching?The results of the research are as follows: 1)In multimedia assisted English teaching environment,the students take the initiative to participate in classroom activities.The teachers pay attention to the students' dominant role and allow them to give full play to their role.However,the teachers are not so familiar with the multimedia,so that they still make mistakes in operation,which greatly affects the effect of the English teaching.2)Most of the teachers hold a positive attitude towards the multimedia assisted English teaching in senior high school.They have a good command of computer skills.However,they are unable to apply the skills to practical teaching.According to the above results,this paper summarizes the following teaching enlightenment: 1)Teachers should put more efforts in the study of pedagogy,strengthen the study of multimedia assisted teaching theory,and establish a correct concept of multimedia teaching.2)Teachers should improve their computer skills.They are supposed to accept and learn various new multimedia teaching facilities actively.Moreover,Teachers should use multimedia to create real situations,strengthen students' communication and collaboration abilities,and strengthen students' subjectivity.
