In the 21 st century,computer technology has widely penetrated into all aspects of people's lives.The multimedia-assisted teaching has also become a key technology for promoting the development and progress of education.multimedia teaching has become a trend in the traditional classroom with the country's support and investment in education.So what is the current status of multimedia-assisted teaching and how can teachers use multimedia teaching properly? These are issues that urgently require our attention and resolution.Therefore,this study takes four high schools in the southern part of the Ningxia as samples to investigate the status of multimedia-assisted teaching in English class.The study explores the effectiveness of multimedia-assisted teaching,and the existence of teaching problems by questionnaires and interviews.And propose corresponding suggestions to solve those problems.In this study,60 English teachers and 200 students were selected as the survey subjects.The study mainly adopted questionnaires and interviews.The survey focused on the current status and existing problems of multimedia-assisted teaching in high school English class.The survey found that multimedia devices are always out of order in class;teachers' multimedia technology need to improve;multimedia is used in place of teachers;teacher-student interactions occur less in class;the method of making courseware is monotonous;the input quantity of knowledge is large and so on.In order to solve those problems,the study puts forward corresponding suggestions including:Recommendations for the education sector and schools should strengthen the training and assessment of teachers,increase investment in multimedia teaching facilities;Teachers shouldestablish a correct view of multimedia teaching,improve their own multimedia technology and pay attention to the combination of traditional and modern teaching.
