This paper is a case study of the editing and translation project on the publications of 2018 Shanghai International Film Festival, with an emphasis on discussing the possibility of a more reasonable cooperation pattern. The project was performed by a group of recruited volunteer editors and MTI students led by a chief editor who has expertise in journalism but no experience in texts of the specific kind.Problems of quality including inconsistency and inaccuracy arise out of inappropriate division of work, unprofessional project management and inefficient teamwork. In this case study, the author tentatively proposes measures that may be taken to eliminate the above-mentioned problems and optimize the group working procedure.Specifically, systematic pre-project training should be organized for both editors and translators, and proper project management including style guide study and terminology unification, should be incorporated throughout the whole process. |
