Cultural Study Of Contemporary Wuzhen

The thesis "Research on Contemporary Wuzhen Culture" includes three chapters:introduction,body and conclusion.The introduction outlines the research object,previous research,research methods and significance of this paper.Chapter 1,Cultural Studies and Contemporary Wuzhen.With the continuous development of our social life,there are many new things and problems.At the same time,the theory of "Cultural Studies" in the West has begun to influence the mainland,and has played a certain role in the interpretation of local issues.Wuzhen,which has flourished since 1999,is a suitable object for cultural studies.Cultural research has the characteristics of interdisciplinary,flexible,practical and critical.This paper attempts to examine contemporary Wuzhen from the perspective of cultural research.This chapter first defines the concept of culture and cultural studies,combs the development of Wuzhen from traditional to contemporary,and then analyses how Wuzhen is constructed into a "utopia" of urban people from macro,meso and micro perspectives.Chapter 2,the space shaping of contemporary Wuzhen.On the whole,Wuzhen has undergone a change with the meaning of "Disney".But at the same time,it keeps its own characteristics as far as possible.In the development of modernization,Wuzhen not only restores ancient buildings,creates modern leisure and entertainment space,but also remolds the ancient town space with night scenery.In this chapter,we use the knowledge of space theory to study the overall space of contemporary Wuzhen.Chapter 3,the analysis of contemporary Wuzhen cultural phenomenon.The study of culture must be placed in the social context,Wuzhen is no exception.The development of Wuzhen can not do without the influence of the government,capital operation and the public.Secondly,the development of Wuzhen is closely related to the rise of leisure economy in consumer society.Thirdly,the rapid change of media has accumulated reputation for Wuzhen.This chapter explores how this millennium old town exerts its unique charm in the context of modernization from three perspectives of power relations,social background and media.The conclusion analyses the two modes of the development of ancient towns and the experience and reflection brought to us by Wuzhen.
