Beauty as aesthetic value is one of the most important cultural terms.Beauty exists in every language and affects everyone. On the one hand, the concept of "beauty" has the embodiment of culture,on the other hand,it has the embodiment of language.Speaking of the language incarnation of the concept(in our paper, the concept of "beauty"),we should talk about idioms, through which the cultural characteristics of the nation are most vividly reflected.Idioms express national thoughts and judgments, beliefs and superstitions, and people's daily wisdom.Times and attitudes towards life will change, but idioms are still the same. Therefore,by exploring idioms,we can understand the concepts that exist not only in language but also in culture. The concept is an important part of national culture. The study of concepts has become one of the main methods for studying the mentality and personality of a country. When it comes to the beauty of a man, this concept means the inner and outer beauty.Whether in Russian or Chinese, there are many idioms in both languages that can describe these aspects of beauty. Therefore, taking into consideration the breadth of this topic,we narrow down the concept of analysis to this aspect-the external beauty of human beings. From the perspective of cultural linguistics, this paper makes a comparative study of the concept of "beauty" by means of idioms in Chinese and Russian. This study shows that the concept of "beauty" in Chinese and Russian has the same and different characteristics. The purpose of this paper is to help the Russian and Chinese people understand each other in intercultural communication. The thesis entitled “The comparison analysis of the concept of “beauty” in Chinese and Russian languages-representation of the human external beauty in the idioms”.The thesis consists of five parts: introduction;three chapters, conclusion and references. In the introduction we explain the relevance the selected topic, defining the research purpose and objectives, demonstrates the scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance. In the second chapter,we list the collected idioms. In order to facilitate further analysis,we divided all collected idioms into three groups according to what part of beauty these idioms represent: looks, dress and manners. In each of the large groups we also made a few groups.Beautiful look: facial features, body, hair and skin beauty. In the third chapter,we analyze and compare the idioms collected in the previous chapter. We performed separate analyses of similar and different features we found in the idioms. In the analysis of the similarity in the idioms,we found several similarities, which are considered to be the symbols of beauty in both languages: white skin, beautiful eyes and eyebrows, white teeth, thin waist, elegant posture and the idea of a “woman-flower”.While analyzing the differences in idioms,we began from the analyze of the characteristics we can find of both languages. These are: women's skin, male body, animal metaphor, plant metaphor. After that,we examined the characteristics of the "beauty" concept we can find only in Chinese or Russian idioms, highlighting the unique features found only in one language. For Chinese, this is: "woman-jade",silk metaphor,"woman-moon" and "lotus" feet. For Russian, this is: the difference between the beauty of men and women, the connection between love and beauty, the connection between beauty and marriage, and the basis of opposition. In the fourth chapter,we study the causes of similarities and differences of Chinese and Russian idioms(in accordance with the category list from the previous article). When analyzing the causes of similarities and differences,we always rely on the differences between the two cultures. On the basis of social, cultural and ethnic characteristics(also with historical background),we analyze the reasons for the differences and similar views in China and Russia. In conclusion we summarize the comparative analysis of the “beauty” concept in Chinese and Russian idioms. In the fifth chapter,we identified the importance of teaching idioms, identified the skills that need to be taught by the student in the teaching process, and also analyzed the methods of teaching idioms. In the conclusion we also describe that the concept of “beauty” has changed, and we discuss what is the ideal of the external beauty in the modern era.Idioms reflect the beautiful ideas that existed in a certain culture years ago. However, almost all the concepts in society may change over time. The concept of "beauty" in the modern era is in many ways different from what we saw in the idioms. In addition to the above sections, this paper also includes a series of references.
