Vietnamese culture belongs to the Chinese character culture circle.Vietnamese students have certain advantages in learning Chinese characters.However,for Vietnamese students whose native language is Latin,Chinese characters are a major difficulty in their learning Chinese.Chinese character teaching has always been a difficult problem in Chinese teaching in Vietnam.Regardless of teachers or students,in order to master Chinese communication skills more quickly,the emphasis is on sentence structure,grammar and vocabulary teaching,ignoring the teaching of Chinese characters in Vietnamese Chinese teaching.important position.This paper is divided into four parts: The first part elaborates the background of the topic,the research overview,the research methods and the research significance.Among them,we collected a large amount of relevant information,on the basis of previous studies,we have briefly summarized the use of Chinese characters in Vietnam.The second part is mainly to sort out the current situation of Chinese characters teaching in Vietnamese universities.In order to grasp the first-hand information,from July to September of 2018,we conducted a field survey on the current situation of Chinese character teaching at the foreign language universities of the University of Hanoi,and the Confucius Institute at Hanoi University,which are the main teaching units of Vietnamese teaching in Vietnam.The survey found that the current Chinese character teaching environment and teaching objects are mainly based on Vietnamese universities,educational institutions and university students,with a single structure.Since the restoration of Chinese language teaching in Vietnam in 1991,nearly 30 years of development,although we have been made many achievements,the development of the teaching staff has been in an unbalanced state,and the improvement has been so slow.Based on the National Hanban promotion textbook "New Practical Chinese Textbook",we analyzed the practical application of Vietnamese Chinese character teaching principles and Chinese character teaching methods.We found that Vietnamese Chinese character teaching mainly adopts "speaking ahead,writing slightly after" and " The principle of “distributing literacy” and stroke teaching method.Due to the weak resources of teachers' development,the lack of high-level Chinese textbooks,and the lack of awareness of self-directed learning among Vietnamese students in learningChinese and Chinese characters,the overall effect of Vietnamese Chinese character teaching is currently unsatisfactory.In the third part,we collected the effective graduation test papers for the 2014 graduates of the Chinese Language and Culture Department of the Chinese Language and Culture Department of the National University of Foreign Languages,Hanoi National University of Vietnam,and collected the Chinese characters written by the students.We have summarized and sorted out the types of errors in the use of Chinese characters by Vietnamese college students.They were mainly divided into four categories: typos bias,misplaced characters,pinyin instead of Chinese writing bias and Chinese characters.This paper analyzed the current status and difficulties of Vietnamese students' Chinese character learning.From the aspects of students,teachers,teaching materials and curriculum settings,it analyzed the causes of Chinese teaching difficulties and difficult learning.The fourth part,on the basis of the previous research,from the aspects of teaching,teaching materials,student learning,etc.,we proposed to cultivate teachers' awareness of teaching Chinese characters and students' awareness of learning Chinese characters,adopting the pre-learning-learning-review three-phase tight connection,strengthen strokes and component teaching,organize various forms of Chinese characters related activities,using various forms of teaching evaluation and other teaching strategies.
