In April 2017,after publication of the Warring States Bamboo Manuscripts Collected by Tsinghua University(?),it arose heat discussion and widespread attention among scholars. With the study going deeply, there are more and more achievements sprang up.Some of the articles are about the study of perplexing characters in the Bamboo Manuscripts, which are very important for our thesis. We collected many scholars' papers in order to comb the phonetic loan characters and variant Chinese characters in Tsinghua(?),further to help us analyse the usage of Chinese character. This thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter is preface, which mainly introduce the purpose, significance, the research status of Tsinghua(?)and usage of Chinese character, and the study method in our paper. The second chapter is about variant Chinese characters.Th is chapter is consist of four part:(1)whether there is a radical in the character;(2)the difference between configurations;(3)different radicals in ideographic characters;(4)different radicals in phonetic characters;(5)same radical but different position;(6)whether ellipsis the radical or not;(7)simplified and complicated;(8)some different strokes or careless errors. The third chapter is about the phonetic loan characters.According to the sound of different characters,we divide this chapter into five part:(1)homophone characters;(2)alliteration and repetition in rhyme;(3)alliteration;(4)vowel rhyme;(5)phonetic simiIarity;(6)other condition. In the end of the thesis, there is a index of Chinese characters in Tsinghua(VII).Some of the characters are still remain to be solved,so we just choose the most suitable opinion in our thesis. We hope this kind of arrangement is benefit for our further study of Chu bamboo slips.
