J.M.Coetzee is a distinguished writer of South Africa,winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2003,His novels are short and concise in length,with simple and intropection style,Seemingliy tranquil but contains unlimted depth and breadth.which becomes a hot issue for academic research.Juding from research result in the past,scholars have mainly discussed from the perspectives of post-colonialism,feminism and trauma theory,ignoring to explore the profound ideas contained in Coetzee's works:"intersubjectivity".Whether inter-subjiectivity hiddened in polyphonic and carnival literary forms or conceive the ideal world of intersubjectivity,Which reflects Coetzee's pursuit of intersubjectivty.The research object of this paper are Coetzee's novels,the theory of Dialogue,polyphony and Carnival of Bakhtin are the theoretical basis,to explore the intersubjectivity elements contained in Coetzee's works,also breath a profound humanistic feelings.The specific content is composed of three chapter other than introduction and conclusion.The introduction part sketches Coetzee's family background and life journey as well as his works,sorts out the research on Coetzee in China and Abroad,followed with summarizing the development history of intersubjectivity and the dialogue theory of Bakhtin.The first chapter ananlyzes the polyphonic features of Coetzee's four novels in terms of the dialogic relationship of characters and themselves,characters and author,characters and characters,explores the intersubjectivity of Coetzee's novels by dialogue of the two subjects.The second chapter focuses on the features of carnivalized of In the heart of Country,and analyzes the mannifestations of the carnivalized from the "the duality of the characters","the element of substance and fresh","the de-coronation and coronation","carnival square"and reveal the aesthetics of intersubjectivity.The third chapter sets Disgrace and Elizabeth Costello:Eight Lessons as astudy focus,and reveals Coetzee's constrcting intersubjectivity of social ideal.The conclusion part summarizes the concrete embodiment of intersubjectivity in Coetzee's novels,and conceives abundant and profound connotations.
