Since the 1990s,the three-syllable words produced each year in Chinese society have gradually surpassed the two-syllable words and become the main body of Chinese new words.The number of Chinese three-syllable words has grown rapidly,and it has gradually become one of the most important focuses for academia.Many of the three-syllable words have been included in the textbook compilation of Chinese as a foreign language,which has been an important aspect of studying the vocabulary for TCSL.Moreover,compared with the two-syllable words,the three-syllable words have longer speech,more morphemes,and more complex meanings so they are often one of the difficulties for foreign students to learn vocabulary.In recent years,more and more scholars have studied the three-syllable words,mainly from the aspects of phonetics,grammar,semantics and rhetoric,etc.However,there are still very few studies on the three-syllable words in the field of Chinese as a foreign language,we have only known four papers so far.It can be seen that the study of three-syllable words in the field of Chinese as a foreign language is still scarce.Therefore,this paper takes the textbook compilation of Chinese as a foreign language Development of Chinese,which is used more in TCSL as the main body,and combines the General Course Outline of International Chinese Teaching which is more popular in the field of Chinese as a foreign language.By referring to the Modern Chinese Dictionary and the Three-Syllable Words Dictionary and the Oxford English-Chinese Dictionary to collect statistics and do research on the three-syllable words in the textbook compilation of Chinese as a foreign language,aim to have a more comprehensive understanding of the outline and textbooks of the three-syllable words.Firstly,the author exhaustively collects statistics of the three-syllable words in the syllabus and textbooks,and then summarizes and analyzes these words from multiple angles,and finally puts forward some suggestions of compiling the textbook and teaching of the three-syllable words.This paper is divided into three parts:the introduction,the main body and the conclusion,with five chapters.The first chapter is to introduce the current status and main results of the study of the three-syllable words in the academic circle,as well as the research methods,sources of corpus and so on.The second chapter firstly collects and analyzes the structure level,grammatical attribute and type of the structure of the outline of the three-syllable words,and then summarizes and classifies the monosyllabic morphemes contained in the outline of three-syllable words,sums up the common words in the outline and the morphemes of the Chinese character table and the morphemes with higher frequency;Then according to the semantic commons of these three-syllable words,simply classifying these words in the outline semantically.And then collects and researches the three-syllable words appeared in the textbook from the aspects of structure level,grammatical attribute,structure type,etc.By combining the structure level and structure type,make an comprehensive study of 2+1 model and(1+1)+1model,which take up a large number in the quantity of the three-syllable words and then classify and summary the morphemes contained in these three-syllable words,count the single morpheme with higher frequency.Finally,explore the situation of the collection and coverage of the three-syllable words of the outline in the textbooks,then count and analyse the situation of the soft and tone-variations appeared in the outline and textbooks of the three-syllable worcds.The third chapter firstly counts the English annotations of all the three-syllable words in the textbook,and give examples to summarize the main ways of the interpretation of the three-syllable words in the textbook,and analyzes the main problems of the English three-syllable words;then the author counts and arranges the exercise of the three-syllable words which appeared in the textbook,classifies and analyses the exercises from three aspects:the amount of the exercises,the type of the exercises and the content of the exercises.The article separates the three-syllable words from the exercises,which regards the three-syllables as a knowledge points,and investigate solely.Based on the data and conclusions of the first three chapters,the fourth chapter proposes suggestions for improving the textbook compilation of Chinese as a foreign language from the perspectives of inclusion,English interpretation and practice,and proposes some views and opinions of the three-syllable words in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.The fifth chapter,the conclusion part,summarizes the full text and points out some shortcomings of the paper.
