The subject matters of this paper are four different types and levels of OralChinese Textbooks of teaching Chinese as a foreign language (hereinafterabbreviated as TCAFL), which are typical and commonly used. Combined withsome characteristics of new terms, this paper discusses the situation of thetextbooks of TCAF absorbing new words. Based on the related researchingachievements, this paper gives some suggestions on how the textbooks of TCAFLabsorb the new terms. This paper is divided into four chapters. The contents ofeach chapter are as follows:Chapter one: Introduction. This chapter mainly explains the purpose andsignificance of this research, classifies previous research achievements on thiscase, and defines the new words according to the existing research.Chapter two: the necessity of the oral Chinese textbook of TCAFL absorbingnew words. Firstly combined with the communicative needs of Chinese learnersand the development on oral Chinese textbooks of TCAFL, the paper explains thenecessity of stressing the new words in TCAFL. Then based on the nature andmission of the oral class, the author illustrates the necessity of learning the newwords in oral Chinese class.Chapter Three: Analysis of the statistical results of the oral Chinese textbookusing new words. The characteristics of textbooks of TCAFL in terms ofabsorbing new words: the overall number of new words is relatively small; theproportion of new words in long-term students’ textbooks is larger thanshort-term ones. The number of new words included in some textbooks cannot bearranged rationally according to the studying stage, the new words related to thesocial life constitute the largest class, but semantics words cannot meet thesatisfaction of Chinese leaner; the advantage lay with the new words inetymology; the reappear rate of the new words is low. Chapter Four: The principal and implementing suggestions on those newwords absorbed by the oral Chinese textbook of TCAFL. According to the resultsof the statistical analysis of this article and existing achievements, the authorsuggests that: combined with the principal of practical, step by step, and standard,the number of new words can be relatively increased. In the aspect of semanticsclass, we should increase the share of new words in business,science, technology,and communication. In terms of etymology, we should select all kinds of newwords from different sources, based on the practical and standardizing principalof writing textbooks.
