Classroom activity is a kind of action that teachers and students work together in order to achieve teaching objectives.Diversified classroom activities can help to achieve teaching objectives.Multiple Intelligences(MI)theory put forward by Howard Gardner advocates that the design of classroom activities should be rich in content and diverse in forms.Nowadays, there are many problems in senior high school English classroom activities, such as being designed simply and lacking of diversity, which are not beneficial to the improvement of the students' English subject core competencies. Therefore, the implementation of senior high school English classroom activities based on MI theory will help to solve this problem. This thesis focuses on senior high school English classroom activities based on the theory of MI,in order to find its effect on senior high school English teaching. For the further research, the following three research questions are involved. What are the factors being concerned when implementing senior high school English classroom activities based on MI theory? What are the students' attitudes towards the senior high school English classroom activities based on MI theory? What are the influences of senior high school English classroom activities based on MI theory on students' learning? In order to solve these three research questions,a case study was used involving a teacher and 80 students in Grade One coming from the two classes the teacher taught in a senior high school in one capital of Northeast China. The research questions above were discussed respectively through classroom observation, questionnaire and interviews.First,a two-month classroom observation of the two classes were carried out, aiming at studying the factors being concerned when implementing senior high school English classroom activities based on MI theory.Next,a questionnaire was used for finding the students' attitudes towards senior high school English classroom activities based on MI theory and all the data of the 80 questionnaires were analyzed by SPSS13.0.The interviews included interviews to the students and interview to the teacher. These interviews aimed to explore the students' attitudes towards senior high school English classroom activities based on MI theory and the influences of senior high school English classroom activities based on MI theory on the students' learning. The research findings are senior high school English classroom activities based on MI theory are implemented usually from the aspect of the teaching materials' topic, types of classes, teaching objectives and the students' individual differences in intelligence. In addition, students are easily open to the activities based on spatial intelligence, interpersonal intelligence and linguistic intelligence and they think that senior high school English classroom activities based on MI theory are essential and helpful. As a result, senior high school English classroom activities based on MI theory can effectively inspire the students' learning interest, motivation and self-efficacy.It follows that the students' English learning efficiency will be enhanced naturally. To foster the language skills and English subject core competencies is the final direction of English classroom activities based on MI theory.
