A Study On The Translation Of Medical English Under The Theory Of Eco-Translatology

China has the world's largest population,thus the development of medicine is directly related to the well-beings of billions of Chinese people.With the continuous development of medical level around the world,there's a growing demand for medical English translation.As an important branch of scientific English,in addition to the characteristics of scientific English like conciseness,accuracy,etc,due to the comprehensiveness and wide coverage of disciplines,medical language has strong descriptive and expositive textural features and the expressions of various medical principles and medical procedures are more professional and logical,which make it difficult to read and translate.Thus translators need to accumulate more knowledge of medicine,be familiar with its terminology and grasp some corresponding translation skills.Eco-translatology theory is put forward by Professor Hu Gengshen,and it's a new theory.The theory is based on Darwin's "survival of the fittest" opinion which emphasizes that translators should play their main and central roles in the process of translation and adapt to the ecological environment of translation better,being more flexible to choose the appropriate translation methods as well as making their language more concise,accurate and easy for the audience to understand and accept.This thesis highlights the main and creative role of translators in the translation processes,and is based on a source text of medical science which I have translated before,the thesis discusses how to adapt to the ecological environment better from the adaptation and selection of three dimensions:language,culture and communication.The thesis tries to achieve the balance between the subjects and objects in the translation so that we can do well in the medical translation.
