Under the traditional teaching concept,teachers always neglect the initiative and interaction between students in senior high school English teaching,and more often emphasize the teacher's indoctrination teaching mode.Besides,the proportion of reading teaching in English teaching can not be underestimated.However,the traditional teacher-taught senior high school English reading course lacks interesting,which can not make the current education and teaching needs.Satisfaction.After decades of development and continuous innovation,cooperative learning strategy has been widely used all over the world,and has become a practical and innovative teaching theory and strategy system.However,through literature review,the author finds that the application and research of cooperative learning in senior high school English teaching in China still need to be strengthened,especially in the context of the new curriculum,cooperative learning should be widely used in daily teaching,further implement the purpose of curriculum reform,and realize the cultivation of students' core competence in English subject.Based on this,the author combines cooperative learning with senior high school English reading in the context of the new curriculum and explores a new teaching mode of English reading on this basis,so as to find a new teaching method of English reading,and then break the bottleneck of senior high school English reading teaching,so as to stimulate learners' reading initiative and be good at using new reading.Strategies to improve learners' reading ability.This paper first introduces the meaning and theoretical basis of cooperative learning and English reading teaching,then designs experiments aiming at three questions:(1)Can cooperative learning improve students' tension and anxiety in English reading,and stimulate students' interest in English reading?(2)How can cooperative learning be effectively applied to English reading teaching in senior high schools?(3)Is cooperative learning better than traditional English reading teaching mode? Can cooperative learning effectively improve students' reading ability and level,and promote students' reading performance? After that,the quantitative analysis method is used to conduct questionnaire,interview and test for the two classes.The experimental class adopts cooperative learning method while the control class adopts traditional English reading teaching.After one semester's experimental study,it is believed that the combination of cooperative learning and senior high school English reading teaching can help to activate students' interest in learning and improve students' reading ability.Force is also very helpful,which can effectively alleviate students' anxiety about reading comprehension.It can also guide and cultivate students to learn to use reading strategies to achieve self-improvement,and thus cultivate students' language ability,cultural awareness,thinking character and learning ability.After consulting a lot of literature and practical research,the author believes that the cooperative learning model is feasible to be applied in senior high school English reading class under the background of the new curriculum,and it can effectively improve students' English reading ability.It is suggested that the majority of senior high school English teachers can apply cooperative learning model to reading teaching widely,and the author will conduct more in-depth research and practice in the future.
