The overall objectives brought about by Curriculum Standards for Senior High School English in 2017 are to implement educational policies promoted by the education authority, cultivate core socialist values, and accomplish the fundamental task of promoting morality building, making sure that all people have the right to gain access to English courses in compulsory education which helps students to enhance their key competencies of English subject.Compared with Curriculum Standards for Senior High School English(Trial)in 2003,the requirements raised by Curriculum Standards(2017)emphasize the core values students should boast after receiving English education in senior high schools, such as cultural awareness, mentality, and capabilities of study. In terms of reformation of English courses in senior high schools, more attention should be paid to the cultivation of students' knowledge, feelings and attitudes towards study, cultural awareness and other comprehensive capabilities.Teachers,as the most important role during the teaching process, should not be neglected.Their views about the new curriculum standards and their impact on students should not be underestimated. This thesis summarizes current studies on teachers' hidden curriculum home and abroad, finding that all studies mainly focus on the macro theories of hidden curriculum and ignore the exploration of teachers themselves.Studies that combine English teaching in senior high school with hidden curriculum from teachers' perspective under the guidance of Curriculum Standards(2017)are rarely found, especially the experimental studies. Thus, research questions of this thesis are: 1)Are there any mismatches between the planned curriculum and implemented curriculum? If there are, then,in which aspects can mismatches be found between the planned curriculum and implemented curriculum? 2)What are the potential factors resulting in the discrepancies? By means of distributing questionnaires to senior high school English teachers, carrying out non-participant classroom observation and conducting after-class interviews, teachers' views about English teaching in senior high schools under the new curriculum standards can be found. In the meantime, the problems may arise during the implementation of the new curriculum standards and some remedies could be dug out.The findings are: 1)Under the guidance of Curriculum Standards(2017),mismatches can be found between the planned courses and the implemented courses, for example, teachers' views on the new curriculum standards, achievements of the teaching goals, treatment of the teaching content, construction of teaching models and choices of teaching methods.Although teachers have clear ideas on the new curriculum standards, they still cannot get rid of the shackles bolted by the traditional concepts.2)The mismatches are caused by the pressure made by the college entrance examinations on the teachers, teachers' past teaching experience and their unique educational background.3)New teachers have the determination to adjust their teaching models to meet the requirements brought by the new curriculum standards.Based on the findings derived from the research, three suggestions are made: 1)Examination and assessment mechanism of English in senior high schools should be optimized, pressure alleviation should be put into practice, thus the pressure brought by the examination can be relieved.2)The enhancement of students' cultural awareness raised by the new curriculum standards should be the joint effort made by teachers of all subjects, students and their parents.3)Teachers' professional qualities should be improved and the negative energy brought by the teaching, such as the job burnout should be put under control. The teaching educational research groups must organize teaching sessions at regular intervals.Teachers should participate in the teachers' training sessions, cooperate with one another, share teaching methods and experience with other teachers and draw on peers' strong points to make up for their own weakness, thus teachers can meet the requirements brought up by Curriculum Standards(2017).
