Chinese short science fiction Folding Beijing by Hao Jingfang was the winner of Hugo award in 2016.This highlights the importance of studies on the translation of Chinese science fictions, which has just been activated. The object of this study is to elaborate the strategies for Chinese science fiction to go global.By analyzing Ken Liu's principles in tackling with vocabulary, syntax and figures of speech, the thesis concluded his translation approaches.Ken Liu's success in translation is partially due to his preference to combine free translation and literal translation, domestication and foreignization together, with his own scientific literacy as an advantage. Thus, the translation has almost the same effect as the original one, which is commonly accepted by target readers.Outcomes of this study include the following points:(1)Translators should possess not only profound literary foundation and scientific knowledge, but also rich imagination;(2)As for the technical contents, pure fictional contents and cultural and historical background in the fiction, translators should make specific analysis of diverse contexts, with consideration of both the original meaning and readers'expectation, then choose the most appropriate translation method;(3)Chinese sci-fi literature only attracted relatively small groups of overseas readers, but the evaluations from them are quite fair. The combined efforts of authors, translators and readers are necessary for Chinese sci-fi literature's "going global".Hopefully the research has contributed to the translation strategies of the "going global" initiative of Chinese sci-fi literature.
