The translation of academic works,as an important channel for academic and even cultural exchange in today's world,is expected to make great contribution to promoting academic exchange and development between different countries in the new era.Evidently,this report possesses academic significance and practical value.First,the report introduces the background of this translation project,overviews the current studies on translation of academic works and points out the thesis' s significance.Next,the report describes the language features of the source text and the translation process which includes pre-translation preparations,comprehension and reproduction of the source text,and post-translation proofreading.In the pre-translation preparation part,with the help of the word-frequency statistical tool,the thesis adopts the method of terms statistics and their quantitative analysis.Next,the thesis discusses the four principles: faithfulness,readability,professionalism and conciseness.Finally,the strategies of literal translation,free translation and varied translation technique are proved to be very practical.The highlight is that by making good use of the huge database of Youdao online translation,this report proves the feasibility of various translation techniques.This report is intended to expound the guiding significance of the four principles for translation of academic works,meanwhile it illustrates the feasibility of literal & free translation and varied translation in the translation of academic works so as to enlighten translators of academic works.
