Homework is a part of the classroom extension.There are already many researches about homework.Teachers can quickly know which part that students are not good at through students' homework and students also can consolidate what they have learned in class by doing their homework.Therefore homework plays an important role in teaching process.However,nowadays most students treat their homework just as one of their tasks and most of them do not realize the importance of their homework.There are some problems in their homework.And it is common that there are more than fifty students in a classroom.Naturally we know everyone is different and students' knowledge level is also different.The situation of“one size fits all”,therefore,is common now.As a result,students from low English level sometimes think their homework is too difficult to finish,and gradually they lose the interest of doing English homework.Additionally,homework is usually the part that is ignored by most students.Thus it needs more attention from teachers and students.This study intends to investigate the attitudes and views of students towards the current English homework in junior high school.Furthermore,it also intends to explore that whether the personalized homework helps students improve their performance in their examination and boost their English learning interest.Under the guidance of Multiple Intelligence Theory,Differential Education Theory and Zone of Proximal Development Theory,the experiment is designed and carried out in a junior high school.There are two steps in personalized homework.Namely,the assigning hierarchical English homework and the guidance of using multiple intelligence.On the one hand,students are divided into three groups according to their English level,and they can do different homework in each group.On the other hand,through the introduction of multiple intelligence theory,the teacher guides students to use their strong intelligence to complete their English homework.To investigate students' current situation of their homework,the questionnaire is used.To explore the effect of personalized homework,pretest,mid test and post test are used in this study.The data is analyzed by SPSS 19.0.The results from this study show that homework nowadays has not attracted enoughattention.And this study finds that students are not interested in traditional English homework enough and they are willing to accept the new form of homework.Furthermore,personalized homework leaves a positive effect on improving students' scores in their examinations.And personalized homework helps students boost their English learning interest.Teaching should respect students' personality and try to stimulate students' learning interest.Therefore,personalized homework may be worth trying.
