This thesis focuses on the case study of Fu Baoshi,the historian of painting,focusing on the grasp of historical facts.The scope of the study began in 1925 in the ?outline of the Origin and History of traditional Chinese painting?,and ended in 1942 ?a study on the History of Landscape painting in Ancient China?.Starting from the academic background of Fu Baoshi's painting historiography,this paper comprehensively considers the noumenon consciousness of Fu Baoshi's early writing of Chinese painting history and the contents of college education,social atmosphere,cultural history and so on.The purpose of this paper is to outline the context of Fu Baoshi's early thought of administering history and objectively evaluate the research results of Fu Baoshi,a painting historian.The paper is divided into three chapters,in addition to the introduction,respectively from the academic background of Fu Baoshi's early painting history view,Japanese influence and main characteristics.The focus of each chapter is different.The first chapter examines the traditional mode of Chinese painting history,the rise of new historiography in the Republic of China,and the "Japanese model" in painting historiography in the Republic of China,and observes Fu Baoshi's reaction to the phenomena and problems caused by the influx of various artistic thoughts in the period of the Republic of China.Constructing its academic background for the later analysis of the connotation of his concept of painting historiography.The second chapter describes the influence of Fu Baoshi's early view of painting history in all aspects of Japan with the interpretation of specific texts.In this process,he inevitably thinks about the development of Chinese painting with reference to the research results of Chinese painting history in Japan.Chapter three is the key chapter of this article.Starting with?An outline of the History of the changes of Chinese painting?,it is roughly in accordance with the changes of Fu Baoshi's major points in life between the 1920 s and 1940 s.This paper chooses the works related to the history of painting written by him when he studied in his hometown,when he lived in Japan and returned to his country.The rational extraction of his view of painting history is the result of the interaction of internal spirit and external influence.However,the influence of Japan,the impact of the West and the evolution of Chinese society itself can be regarded as an opportunity for Fu Baoshi to activate Chinese traditional painting.Fu Baoshi's inner thought is undoubtedly the strong interweaving of Confucian and Taoist traditions and national spirit,in which the factors of literati painting almost play a decisive role.
