Friendship jealousy refers to a series of negative emotions such as anger,sadness and anxiety that generates when an individual feels that his or her close relationship with a friend is threatened by a third party.It is a common phenomenon of interpersonal communication.Excessive level of jealousy will have a negative impact on individual's mental health and daily life.Adult attachment is determined by the attachment relationship formed between an individual and his or her caregivers in early years.Adult attachment will affect the experience of jealousy in the process of getting along with others.At the same time,the individual's experience of jealousy will also be affected by his/her ability of emotional regulation.In this study,1050 college students were selected as the subjects to develop a scale that can effectively measure friendship jealousy among college students,and to explore the influence of adult attachment and emotional regulation on friendship jealousy among college students with the self-designed scale.The results show that:(1)The Friendship Jealousy Scale for College Students is composed of 10 items with good reliability and validity,which can effectively test the level of friendship jealousy of college students.(2)As far as college students are concerned,the level of friendship jealousy is low,but 10.1% of them have a higher level of friendship jealousy.(3)There is a significant gender difference in friendship jealousy among college students,which is higher in girls than in boys.(4)There is a significant grade difference in friendship jealousy among college students.The friendship jealousy of freshmen and seniors is lower than that of sophomores and juniors.(5)There is no significant difference in friendship jealousy between urban and rural residence and only child among college students.(6)In the process of adult attachment to friendship jealousy,emotional regulation plays a mediating role,that is,sthe positive predictive effect of attachment avoidance and attachment anxiety on friendship is directly generated,and part of it is indirectly produced through cognitive reappraisal and expression suppression.
