Culture,which develop with time and show in space,realize its value based on the public identity.This paper took Quanzhou Maritime Museum as example to explore the spatial production and public identity of the Maritime Silk Road culture,and the constructing meaning of spatial production to public identity in the use of questionnaires,participant observation,Logistic analysis and Factor analysis.The study shows that,Quanzhou Maritime Museum,the spatial production of Maritime Silk Road culture,is autocratically charged by the government and characterized with historic,cultural,social and functional.By the use of society's collective memory and cultural signs of Zaitun flower,sailboat and color of Minnan architecture,it constructed the Maritime Silk Road cultural space to present the friendly and peaceful history of maritime trade and culture exchange between Quanzhou and the abroad in the history.The public highly identify the Maritime Silk Road culture,specially in behavioral dimension,and then the emotional dimension and cognitive dimension followed.There exist the differences between public identity for some reason.The female higher identified the culture than male for the reason that the representation of Feminism,adolescent higher identified than middle-aged because of relating cultural propaganda and education,and Quanzhou public higher identified than the others public in the base of place belongingness and pride.Quanzhou Maritime Museum positively impacted and constructed the public identity in cognitive dimension,emotion dimension and specially behavioral dimension.
