Since it was put forward in 2013,the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road(MSR)has attracted much attention of foreign media like Center for Strategic and International Studies(CSIS)that published many articles about the MSR.In this translation report, the author takes China's Maritime Silk Road: Strategic and Economic Implications for the Indo-Pacific Region published on the website of CSIS as the source text of translation and case analysis material, which aims to help us Chinese know foreign media's attitudes towards the MSR and improve the author's translation level as well.Based on the “Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation”(CEA)Framework proposed by famous translator Li Changshuan, this report analyzes the linguistic features of political and economic texts as well as summarizes the translation methods applied in the process of translation. In the Comprehension phase, the translator looked up relevant information and parallel texts to help herself understand the source text well. Then in the Expression phase, the translator employed some useful translation methods to produce a natural, accurate and fluent translation.Due to the differences between English and Chinese in expression, the translator modified her translation by using amplification, omission, division, conversion and other translation methods in accordance with translation purposes and needs of target language to give a qualified translation which could achieve a similar reading effectiveness between the source text and target text readers.Through this translation practice, the author found that she misunderstood the source text due to the shortage of background information and words misinterpretation.Being greatlyconstrained by the source text, the author failed to produce fluent expression. And the author attempted to use adaptation but overdone it.Hence, the author recognizes the above problems and provides revision which will be helpful to her latter study.
