Alfred North Whitehead was a famous British mathematician,thinker and founder of the philosophy of process in the 20 th century.Whitehead formed his unique educational thought by combining his process philosophy with his own rich practical experience in education and teaching.His thought of the rhythm of education is an important part of his educational thought,which is of great theoretical and practical value.In the education work the aims of education of the second and third chapter named " the rhythm of education "and" the rhythmic claims of freedom and discipline”the author puts forward the concept of unique thought about the rhythm of education,this thought made a comprehensive and detailed in this paper.Instructional design is a necessary step for teachers before they achieve successful classroom teaching aims.High-quality classroom teaching design is a necessary prerequisite for effective teaching.Teachers' instructional design will directly affect the quality and level of teaching.With the deepening of new English curriculum reform and the proposal of "key competencies ",the proportion of students' learning process and teachers' teaching process in instructional design has been gradually increased.How to stimulate students' learning motivation,give play to students' dominant position,and achieve the teaching objectives of English curriculum standards,and show the wisdom of teachers have become a series of problems that we urgently need to solve in English instructional design.This article first discusses the main content of the ideas of the rhythm of education,and then the author found out some questions in the perspective of whitehead's thought of the rhythm of education.such as the problems about the design analysis of the background of junior high school,the problems on the teaching aim and teaching organization and analyze the reasons of problems which to be settled urgently,try to give some suggestions,in order to help our middle school English teaching perfectly,realize the goal of our English teaching,to train talents with comprehensive ability to use English.This study is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly discusses the reason of topicselection,literature review,concept definition,research significance,research content,research method and innovation.The second chapter mainly elaborates the main content of the thoughts about the rhythm of education,rhythm of education thought is a successful dance to the students' intellectual development pace,so the paper mainly discusses the main content of the rhythm of intellectual development includes three aspects: the students' intelligence development rhythm according to the characteristics of the divided into stages of romance,precision and generalisation;Another rhythm characteristic of these three stages is the rhythm of intellectual development of freedom,discipline and freedom.There are Three stages and a maelstrom,small vortex type for periodic cycle.The third chapter mainly explains the problems and causes of junior high school English teaching design in teaching background analysis,teaching goal determination and teaching process organization from the perspective of whitehead's thoughts about the rhythm of educationChapter four mainly discusses the enlightenment of whitehead's thoughts of the rhythm of education to the English instructional design of junior middle school in China.It includes four aspects: the first aspects suggest teachers should pay attention to the rhythm of collecting knowledge and compiling vivid teaching content;Secondly,teachers should design multi-dimensional and stratified teaching objectives in accordance with students' intellectual development.Third,the teacher should caress the student emotion experience,organizes the rhythm happy moving teaching link;Finally,the teacher should grasp the classroom teaching time management,describes "keeping lank space" the classroom picture scroll.
