In recent years,with the deepening of global economic and cultural integration and the increasingly close cultural exchanges,this phenomenon has made people pay more and more attention to English learning.The emergence of modern communicative teaching methods has greatly enriched the theory of foreign language teaching.The communicative method was introduced to China in the late 1970 s.During this period,researchers and scholars mostly applied this method to colleges and universities,but little research on basic education.However,with the continuous development,reform and improvement of the new curriculum reform in China in the past decade,the ability to use language is crucial for students.This requires us to focus on the students' practical communication skills in the teaching to adapt to the gradual improvement of communication skills in the current period.This study selects junior high school students who already have a certain language foundation.From the perspective of empirical research,they conduct research through questionnaires and experiments,aiming to solve three problems:1.Is it feasible to apply the communicative approach to junior high school English listening and speaking?2.How to apply the communicative approach to junior high school English listening and speaking?3.Is it effective to apply the communicative approach to junior high school English listening and speaking?The author will conduct a three-month comparative experiment on the experimental class.Using SPSS22.0 statistical analysis software,the two listening and speaking test scores of the two classes were compared and analyzed.By comparing the two test results of the test class,it is verified whether the students' listening and speaking ability is significantly improved under the communicative teaching mode.Finally,questionnaires were used to investigate students' satisfaction with the application of communicative teaching methods in listening and speaking,as well as the problems reflected by students during the teaching process,and to verify theeffectiveness of communicative teaching.The cycle of this study is one semester.Through experimental research and related SPSS analysis,the author concludes that the listening and speaking levels of the experimental class students have been significantly improved,while the listening and speaking levels of the control class students have not been correspondingly improved.Therefore,the author believes that the application of communicative teaching method to junior high school English listening and speaking can improve students' English listening and speaking ability.
