English Reading Teaching has ever been playing an important role in English Teaching.Many experts devote themselves to do some researches in English Reading Teaching,however,it hasn't worked a lot on seniors' reading scores.Therefore,teachers have to explore a new method of English Reading Teaching to improve students' performance in English reading by participating in the process of learning autonomously.Anchored instruction based on Constructive Theory,Situated Cognition Theory and Cooperative Learning Theory tries applying Anchored Teaching Strategies developed by the Cognition and Technology Group at Vanderbilt into English Reading Teaching and aims to cultivate students' ability of solving problems independently.Anchored instruction attempts to validates whether students' interest of English learning,students' role during reading class and students' status in reading class are relevant factors affecting Students' English reading level,so as to convert their thoughts toward English learning and improve students' performance in English reading.This thesis combined theoretical study with empirical study has made use of questionnaire survey,SPSS statistical software,interview and Teaching experiment to explore how to develop students' reading ability with the use of anchor teaching strategy in a scientific and systematic way so as to innovate the traditional teachercentered teaching type of reading class in high school.The result of analysis of three experimental test scores with Spss24.0 has verified that Anchored Teaching Strategies are effective in English teaching.
