In recent primary English teaching,the pupils do not have a solid foundation of English and their English pronunciation and tone are poor.They do not have any interest to English so they always have coping mood in the English class.The author thinks that the English teaching lesson period is tight and it is not enough for the English teachers to pay attention to the affective teaching and the time they take in the affective teaching is too short.And at the meantime,they cannot use proper teaching methodology in the English teaching.In 2001,the English curriculum standards for compulsory education formulated by the ministry of education of China first proposed the idea of affective attitude and values,and took this goal as one of the three-dimensional teaching objectives.However,how to achieve this teaching goal in daily teaching has been troubling many teachers.The lack of affective teaching and application barriers are the important reasons affecting primary school English teaching.Teachers who use affective teaching to teach students can not only improve the teaching efficiency,but also cultivate students' interest in English learning and help them develop good ideological and moral character and behavior habits.On the contrary,the improvement of students' interest in English learning will inevitably promote the growth of students' positive emotional factors.In view of this,based on the current situation and confusion of primary school English affective teaching,inspired by Krashen's “Affective Filter Hypothesis” and humanistic theory,this study aims to explore whether affective teaching model can improve primary school students' interest in English learning and cultivate their good thoughts,moral character and behavioral habits.This study adopts the method of teaching contrast experiment and tools of test,questionnaire and interview,and chooses students from two parallel classes of grade 5 in Bu Laoqiao Primary School in Xin Dian Town as subjects,one class as the experimental class and the other class as the control class.After one semester of teaching,data collected from the study were input into SPSS17.0 and Excel 2007 for analysis.The results show that affective teaching model can improve the English learning interest of rural primary school students.And the affective teaching model can improve the English competence of rural primary school students.It is of great significance to apply the affective teaching model in English teaching in rural primary schools.The author thinks that affective teaching has become an irresistible trend in English teaching.However,this study also has some limitations.For example,the experimental scope is too small and the experimental time is too short.It can be seen that under the requirements of the new curriculum reform,how to reasonably use the affective teaching mode in English class is still a difficult task.
