With the continuous progress and development of the times,China and more and more countries have carried out more in-depth and comprehensive exchanges and cooperation.In the context of economic globalization,English is an indispensable language for international trade cooperation and cultural exchange.English will become increasingly important in people’s future work and daily life.The key to learning English lies in the cultivation of English core literacy.In elementary school,it is very important for the formation of English learning habits and the improvement of learning interest.In recent years,the World Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD)has published relevant research reports on the promotion of innovative teaching methods.At present,the development of innovative teaching methods in rural primary schools is not optimistic.There are relatively low teaching levels,insufficient attention to English learning,and low interest in English learning.The rural primary school English teaching has both long-term problems and new problems arising from the mismatch with the development of the new era,all of which require correct countermeasures.Therefore,the author conducts practical research in rural primary school English teaching through innovative teaching methods,and explores how to improve the rural primary school English teaching level and improve the current rural English teaching status.This paper sorts out the OECD series of teaching method research reports and explains the concepts related to the innovative teaching method and the 5C model.By analyzing the connotation of teaching theories such as second language acquisition,constructivism and situational cognition,the necessity and superiority of implementing innovative teaching methods are expounded.Then,using interviews and questionnaires to investigate the status quo of S elementary schools in W County,Hebei Province,and explore and analyze the key problems currently existing in English teaching in rural elementary schools.The rural primary school English teaching process has the problems of low learning interest,single teaching form and lack of learning resources.This article is guided by the OECD innovative teaching method 5C model theory,analyzes the teaching content and subject characteristics of the fourth grade of elementary school English,and designs a scientific and reasonable innovative teaching activity process according to the physical and mental characteristics of students.The corresponding teaching cases are sorted out.Finally,this article uses the innovative teaching method theory to carry out teaching experiments on the two parallel classes in the four years of S primary school.The experimental class adopts the innovative teaching method and the control class adopts the traditional teaching method.After a semester of teaching practice,the use of questionnaires,interviews,achievement tests and other methods to analyze teaching achievements and teaching effects.The experimental results show that the students in the experimental class have improved their academic performance,their learning enthusiasm is enhanced,the classroom atmosphere is more active,and the innovative teaching method has a significant effect on English teaching.The OECD innovative teaching method promotes the cultivation of students’ core English literacy and greatly improves the quality of teaching.It is hoped that this research can provide reference and reference for the primary school English teaching research in the vast rural areas of China.More educators will actively explore innovative teaching methods to provide more practical suggestions for practical teaching and add vitality to the motherland ’s education.
