The Research On The Academic Value Of Dong Zengling's Guoyuzhengyi

Dong Zengling,also known as Qingqian or Shouqun,a scholar in Nanxun Town,Wucheng County,Zhejiang Province,lived in Jia Qing and Dao Guang period in the Qing Dynasty.He has written the Guoyuzhengyi,a book with 21 volumes,which is a masterpiece even in the whole study of Guoyu.However,the status of this book has not been discovered.In order to add more information in the study of Guoyu,the author intends to discuss Guoyuzhegnyi from the following three parts.The first part is about life of Dong Zengling and an overview of Guoyuzhengyi.Dong Zengling was a famous doctor in his hometown,but people from other places rarely knew about him.Therefore,there were very few records about him,only in the local historical records and genealogy,and his life stories were difficult to find.Although some works were spread in the world,most of them were lost.In a word,this part is concise.The second part is the exegetical contents of Guoyuzhengyi.Guoyuzhengyi includes almost all the exegetical problems from classical literatures,while mainly focusing on explaining words and sentences.In order to interpret Guoyu appropriately and make a breakthrough on the basis of predecessors,Dong Zengling explains some special grammatical phenomena and rhetoric ways.Generally speaking,Dong Zengling's exegesis of Guoyuzhengyi mainly includes the following aspects:explaining words,textual research names,explaining rules and regulations,supplementing historical facts and family inheritance,explaining allusions,divination and customs,mastering astronomy,examining geography and hydrology,mastering music,etc.The author sorts out the above nine parts of commentaries,and makessome comments.The last part is about the academic value of Guoyuzhengyi.Tracing back to the history of the study of Guoyu,Zheng Zhong and Jia Kui of the Eastern Han Dynasty,Wang Su,Tang Gu,Yu Fan,Wei Zhao and Kong Chao of the Wei and Jin Dynasties explained it.However,since the Tang and Song Dynasties,most of the explanations have been lost,only leaving Guoyujie of Wei Zhao in the world.In the Northern Song Dynasty,Song Xiang sorted out the Guoyu and the explanations of Wei Zhao,and wrote three volumes of Guoyubuyin.In the Qing Dynasty,researchers on Guoyu included Wang Yuansun,Liu Taigong,Wang Maoguan,Yao Nai,Wang Zhong,Huang Peilie and so on and Guoyuzhegnyi was in the last stage of the study of Guoyu in Qing Dynasty.What the author has been thinking about is that the quality of Guoyuzhengyi is neither crude nor indiscriminate,and the preparation work is very full,the content is detailed and the textual research is numerous,why it is not famous.On the basis of collecting and sorting out the exegetical contents of Guoyuzhengyi,the author makes a textual research on the academic value of Guoyuzhengyi,summarizes the three characteristics of Dong Zengling's exegetical works,and also puts forward four major problems of exegetical works,its advantages and disadvantages.Finally,it summarizes the academic value of Guoyuzhengyi.
