A Study On Philosophy Dimension Of Death Dignity

Death is a part of life.Because of death,people can perceive the limitition and value of life.Therefore,studying for the meaning of life should think from the death.Confucius,an ancient philosopher of mankind,had said: "if you don't understand what life is,how will you understand death" We understand that the concept of life and death is a unity of contradiction.For "born",human beings have established lots of life orders.However,death is not a way of simple escaping from life orders,but the production of realistic social relations.In Levinas' s words,death is not a moment,but a way of existence.In modern society,when people pay close attention to GDP index,human beings always lay their whole hopes on medical technology,which results in being destroyed of traditional culture of death.So mankind have built "new" values related to the culture of death-the presence of technology,the leading man's death.Thus,modernity being full of culture of death shows that capital turns death into a resource,which only exists the property of technology,operation,occupation and business.So my thesis is based on the critique of the modern Horizon "dead concept",and put forward philosophy of thinking death dignity.By taking a progressive approach,this paper discusses the philosophical dimension of death dignity from three aspects: the content of death,the connotation of death dignity and the new concept of death,and clarifies the specific meaning of death dignity between death and realistic social relations,and puts forward the new concept of death to express the author's expectation about the dignity of death.
