A Report On The Translation Of Energy And Fuel System Integration(Excerpt)

With the depletion of the conventional energy,our country has begun to exploit renewable energy to keep abreast with the latest development of renewable energy system.At the same time,the technology for renewable system in western countries has become mature.Hence,to take the advanced technology in other countries for example can effectively promote the sound and rapid development of our country.This is an English-Chinese translation report of the eighth chapter from the book Energy and Fuel System Integration,which illustrates the main component and operation process of the hybrid renewable energy system,provides some best practices how the hybrid renewable energy system generates power and shows a bright future for this field.Energy English has the features of EST,such as application of abbreviation and terminology,long and complex sentences as well as passive sentences.Based on the eighth chapter,the report introduces Skopos Theory as a theoretical guidance for energy English translation.Under the guidance of the basic rules of Skopos Theory,the translator analyzes the characteristics of EST and chooses the proper translation methods.When applying the Skopos Theory into the translation practice,from the perspective of lexical,syntactic and textual level respectively,the translator utilizes some examples to examine whether the above mentioned translation methods are applicable to solving the translation difficulties.In the last chapter,the translator presents experiences and lessons in this project,hoping that it would be helpful to those who are interested in hybrid renewable energy system.
