Adversity quotient(AQ)is a concept put forward by Paul Stoltz in the 1990 s.It refers to individual's reaction to adversity which means individual's ability to face setbacks.At present,domestic research on AQ is mainly in the field of vocational training,and the research related to the subject mainly focuses on physical education and mathematics teaching.And the author learns from the Inner Mongolia bilingual education policy that although Mongolian students started English courses from grade three.However,the overall English academic level of students taught in Mongolian language is still low.Most students have difficulty learning English and the polarization of English scores is serious.Based on this,this thesis conducts an empirical study on the English learning AQ of Mongolian high school students.This paper aims to know Mongolian students' psychological frustration in English during high school education,and tries to know the difficulties faced by them.The research also tends to find out some factors that may influence Mongolian senior high school students' English learning AQ so that the researcher can put forward the related suggestions to improve it.In this study,193 senior high school students were selected from Affiliated Middle School to IMNU.Through questionnaire and semi-structured interviews,the study solves the following problems:1.What is the general level of Mongolian high school students' English learning AQ? Which dimension of AQ(Control,Origin &Ownership,Reach and Endurance)has the greatest influence on it?2.Do they have any grade or gender differences in Mongolian high school students' English Learning AQ?3.What are the factors that may influence Mongolian high school students' English learning AQ?Through the study of the above problems,this paper draws the following conclusions:1.The majority of Mongolian high school students' English learning AQ is at the average level,among the four dimensions,the origin& ownership has the greatest influence on AQ.2.There is almost no gender or grade difference in their English learning AQ.3.Many factors can affect Mongolian high school students' English learning AQ,especially thinking transformation between Mongolian and English,classroom language environment and students' learning strategies,etc.Based on the results of the study,the paper points out the general situation of Mongolian high school students English learning AQ,and puts forward some opinions and suggestions,that is,teachers should integrate students' national cultural content with existing textbooks,strengthen classroom communication,stimulate students' intrinsic motivation,cultivate students' learning strategies,guide students' study methods,and guide students to make the correct attribution.This paper has a reference value for introducing the frontier theory of positive psychology into the educational research of minority areas,and it also has practical guiding significance for the empirical study of AQ in English learning of students who are taught by national language.
