Frustration refers to tense state and emotional reactions caused by dissatisfaction of needs and motives when people come across insuperable obstacles or interference in achieving goals and are propelled by motivations. Anti-frustration ability, refers to the tolerance and superego of setbacks, that means the individual not only has the ability to prevent their behavior and psychology from being abnormal, but also the ability to bear setbacks, to adopt positive and wise psychological mechanism to overcome setbacks and succeed. Nowadays, the current situation of college students' anti-frustration ability is far from being satisfactory, self-regulation seldom works and that lead to mental diseases. And this psychological sub-health becomes more common when it comes to freshmen.This text takes college freshmen as basic research object, takes Professor Paul Stoltz'AQ Theory as the breakthrough point, to research the current situation of freshmen's anti-frustration ability, then focus on the cultivation of freshmen's anti-frustration ability aimed at existed problems to enhance scientificalness and timeliness of undergraduates' ideology and politics education, probe into factors which cause their low AQ and main method of helping them overcome frustrations. This investigation is aimed at freshmen of Dalian universities and colleges, tries to master the current situation of their anti-frustration ability through giving out a mass of questionnaires and empirical analysis method, and then put forward customized cultivation program. The investigation shows that the anti-frustration ability of freshmen is greatly influenced by basic family situation, but less influenced by their types of majors or original senior high school. The frustration they meet at the first year will have influence on later life, and most of them don't want to pour out to others because they think it shameful, they make no preparation of frustration and don't know how to talk out their puzzle. All of this is mainly resulted by family, school and society, individual and so on. At last, the text puts forward the way to cultivate freshmen's anti-frustration ability from perspective of ideology and politics education, that is to enhance their self-awareness education to make them regard frustration correctly, to innovate the ways to cultivate anti-frustration ability and make them diversified, to provide cultural campus and internet environments, and to build perfect anti-frustration mechanism, leading students to reply to frustration and overcome frustration.
