The need for Chinese language arose globally with the explosion of china economy,the status of Chinese language changed from a language of china to become a vehicle for international communication,Therefore it became a global language for interaction.The need for Chinese language competence has become a perquisite for a successful perception of the world.Sudan is not exception;recently,china and Sudan have had very close relationships,these two countries have for a long time maintained outstanding diplomatic relationships.However,the major obstacle to the interaction of these two countries lies in the differences in language.As a result,the demand to studding Chinese language by Sudanese people has increased dramatically.In 2008,the University of Khartoum through the Confucius institute opened the second center after the department of Chinese language for Chinese studies in Sudan.Its already 11 years now since the center was opened,in this period there is a great many achievements.However,there are also a considerable number of challenges that need to be addressed so as to achieve objectives.In order to understand the areas that require immediate attention for improvement,there is greater need to first analyze the whole situation about the study of Chinese language at university of Khartoum.This research surveys the whole circumstances surrounding the study of Chinese Language.Firstly,this research will focus on the history and status quo of the study of Chinese language at the University of Khartoum.In this regard emphasis will be laid on the Chinese language learners,then the teachers,teaching materials,equipment available as well as teaching and learning environment.Secondly,this research will analyze the challenges and problems surrounding the study of Chinese language at university of Khartoum Confucius institute.This section also touches on the equipment available,then the Chinese language teachers,teaching materials as well as learning and teaching environment.After that a highlight of possible solutions will be given based on the research finding.Finally,the writer will give his wishes and hopes for further future studies about studding Chinese language at university of Khartoum.This document is based on the personal experiences of the writer as a former student in University of Khartoum.It will also be anchored on the information obtained from both the teachers and the students.
