This thesis is the study of the new appellation in Chinese New Words from 2006 to 2016,which was complied by the Department of Language and Word Information Management of the Ministry of Education.This thesis explores the changes of new appellations in the past 11 years by using the methods of literature documentary,comparison,case analysis,description and analysis.This thesis is divided into six parts:The Chapter One gives a brief introduction to the thesis,defining new words and appellations,and sorting out the research status of new appellations.We believe that the new appellation meets the following two criteria: first,it refers to new words or popular words which appeared during 2006~2016.Second,the appellation is derived from kinship and social relations.The Chapter Two describes the general situation of new appellations from 2006 to 2016,and gives the reasons for these situations.This thesis finds that new appellations are mainly with two,three and four syllables in terms of syllable length,of which three syllables account for the largest proportion;from the perspective of type,they are mainly words;from the perspective of development trend,the most new appellation emerged in 2010.This thesis also studies the distribution of semantics and color meanings of new appellations,and the new meanings of inherent words.The Chapter Three investigates the word-formation of high-frequency words in new appellations,through illustrative method,abbreviation method,rhetoric method and imitation method.The Chapter Four discusses the reasons for the emergence of new appellations.We find that the emergence of new appellations is influenced by the development of society,the evolution of language itself and the change of people's thinking.The Chapter Five studies the basis and suggestions of the new appellations.The new appellation should have the principles of common use,stability and stability,political and social significance or the influence of persistent events.The Chapter Six peroration.It summarizes the article's views and points out the lack of research.
