Qing Tong Kui Hua is the work of Cao Wenxuan,who is the winner of the International Andersen Award.After its publication in 2005,it has been printed nearly200 times and has sold more than 3 million copies.It has been published in 14 countries including Korea,France,Germany and the United Kingdom.Published in April 2015 in Britain,it has not only won the 2015 British Pen Club Award,but also has won the 2017 Maishi Prize for translation of children's literature.It is well received by western readers.However,most of Chinese children's literature has not been recognized and accepted by foreign readers.Therefore,it is necessary to study the profound causes and influencing factors of its success.However,there are few papers studying on Bronze and Sunflower and fewer papers studying on Bronze and Sunflower from Bourdieu's sociological perspective.Since 1972,James Holmes put forward the concept of “social translation studies” in The Name and Reality of Translation Studies.More and more scholars study the translation phenomenon from the perspective of sociology.Translation is essentially an activity that occurs in society and is never an isolated activity.In order to explain the relationship among translation and society,culture and other factors well,we need to examine these phenomena from a sociological perspective.Drawing on Bourdieu's sociological theory to carry out translation studies can not only reveal the external factors that affect translation activities,but also can conduct deep text analysis,forming a more comprehensive understanding of the process of the production of translated works,overall style,dissemination and acceptance of translated works.So it is reasonable to explore the phenomenon of translation fromthe perspective of sociology.The success of wide acceptance of Bronze and Sunflower in the UK involves many factors such as the author,the translator,readers,publishers,sponsors and the dissemination of Bronze and Sunflower in different literary field.It is a very complex phenomenon.Therefore,this paper,on the basis of Bourdieu's sociological theory,taking the acceptance of Bronze and Sunflower in the UK as a case study,analyzes a series of factors that influence the choice of Qing Tong Kui Hua,the translation process,and dissemination of Bronze and Sunflower in different literary fields from aspects of habitus,capital,and field,and thus explores the deep causes and influencing factors of wide acceptance of Bronze and Sunflower.It is found that the translator has formed the habitus of a scholar who has a profound understanding of the power field and western literary field,and pays attention to the readability of the translated works and the habitus of a translator who is faithful to the source text and pays attention to the faithfulness of the translation in the process of receiving education,translation practice,and social life,all of which motivate translator to flexibly use translation strategies of domestication and foreignization,so that the translation is both faithful to the source text and accords with the reading habits of the target language readers,making Bronze and Sunflower easier to be accepted by target language readers.The interaction of economic capital,social capital,symbolic capital and cultural capital owned by the original work,Cao Wenxuan and Helen Wang also contribute to the dissemination of Bronze and Sunflower.The human beauty,the positive attitude of the Bronze's family in face of sufferings and the relationship between human and nature revealed in Qing Tong Kui Hua are in line with requirements that the British literary field have for literary works.At that time,the interactions and relationships between the literary field and other fields such as the power field are also conducive to the publicity of the English translation of Qing Tong Kui Hua.These are main reasons for the success of Bronze and Sunflower.
