Leibniz's concept of "freedom" or his whole philosophical foundation is based on theology. Therefore,to discuss Leibniz's philosophical path,we should first consider Leibniz's Theological Background and what philosophical attributes Leibniz endowed God.Then we can see Leibniz's "entity" in scholastic philosophy based on Aristotle's philosophy. In the end,"freedom" is interpreted as a consequence of the law of sufficient reasons. In Leibniz's view,"freedom" is not only a simple "spontaneity plus rationality".We should pay more attention to the occasionality, individuality and the effect of what Leibniz called "micro-perception".At the end of this paper,I will point out two questions about Leibniz's argument on "freedom". |
