In order to scale up efforts in green energy research and improve technical level of the petroleum industry,international communication on green petroleum technology becomes especially important.Therefore,the translation material is extracted from the book Green Petroleum: How Oil and Gas Can Be Environmentally Sustainable,expecting to analyze and prove the function of green petroleum in sustainable development.Taking eco-translatology as theory support,the thesis analyses the language style of the selected materials,clarifies the translational environment of the source text,translates the source text with three dimensional transformation and completes the practical translation.The translator aims to explore the feasibility of the translation strategies on petroleum translation and then provides suggestions for further translators specialized in petroleum.This thesis consists of four parts.The first part is task description,mainly introducing the source text,theory support,difficulties,objectives and significance.The second part is process description,including the preparation,translation process and modification.The third part is case analysis.The fourth part is the conclusion.
