A Report On The Interpretation Of BBC Business Boomers Of Hot Property Documentary

In recent years,the research of textual coherence is mainly applied within linguistics field,but is less applied in interpretation practice.However,it has crucial influence to interpretation.Coherence is an invisible network and one of the most important features of a text.What's more,it is a significant standard to realize communicative purpose.Coherence in interpretation is an important principle to make evaluation of interpreting quality.Therefore,interpretation from the perspective of textual coherence is conducive to the interpreter's quick understanding of the speaker's intention.It's helpful to produce fluent expression for the interpreter and achieve coherent comprehension by the audience,then eventually realize communicative purpose.From the perspective of textual coherence,the interpreter proves the guidance of coherence theory to interpreting practice by means of consecutive interpreting.The source text is from a BBC documentary about England hot property listed in 2014.The author takes a simulated interpreting practice to research textual coherence in consecutive interpreting.Faced with problems in interpreting,the author applies textual coherence to manage with problems and gets good effects.There are four parts in this report: Task description briefly describes the source of the text and the interpretation task;Process description makes analysis of the preparation work and language features of BBC documentary;In chapter three,the author explores the influence to textual coherence from three parts of the context: co-text,situational context and cultural context.The author also takes advantage of the interpreting strategy of cohesive devices to improve textual coherence.By this simulated interpreting practice,the author makes a summary and puts forward some suggestions for the sake of non-coherent comprehension and expression to better direct English to Chinese interpretation,improving the quality of interpretation.
