At present,China is constantly deepening the curriculum reform and the development of education informatization.The traditional English teaching mode for primary school English teaching cannot adapt to the education development situation in the new era,and the cramming teaching method cannot meet the learning needs of primary school students and is not consistent with their physical and mental development characteristics.The situational teaching method is in line with the concept of deepening education reform and more in line with the trend of education informatization development.In order to further explore the application of situational teaching method in primary school English teaching,the author carried out a one-semester situational teaching experiment in two parallel classes of Huixian Town Central Primary School,Lingui Gistrict,Guilin City,Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region..On the basis of reference to relevant research literature at home and abroad,based on situational teaching theory,constructivism learning theory and second language acquisition theory,the author completed the research design.The subjects of this study are 100 students in two parallel classes of grade 4 taught by the author and five English teachers of Grades 4,5 and 6.Class Three,Grade Four was selected to be the control class while Class Four,Grade Four was made the experimental class.The traditional teaching method was used in the control class and the situational teaching method in the experimental class.The research instruments adopted include tests,questionnaires,interviews with students and teachers and others.This research aims to understand thefollowing questions through questionnaires,interviews and tests:1.How does situational teaching in primary school English teaching affect students' emotional attitude in English learning?2.How does situational teaching in primary school English teaching affect students' English scores?The results show that the application of situational teaching method in primary school English teaching is conducive to stimulating students' interest in English learning,effectively improving their activeness in English class and reducing their anxiety in the process of English learning.These factors highlight the subject status of students in English learning,exploit their initiatives better,so that they can more actively construct their own knowledge system,and complete the English learning in natural and virtual situations and environment.This makes their English learning process more accords with the objective law of second language acquisition.The teaching test results show that the English scores of the experimental class are significantly higher than those of the control class.
