The author went to the city of Torun,Poland,along with other 11 students and a teacher of Guangxi Normal University for 12-days study and exchanges from July 17 to July 28,2018.The author became a liaison interpreter in this exchange program.Due to the long time span of this program,there are many different occasions in the course of the12 days.Therefore,several occasions are selected for case analysis,including sightseeing interpretation and lecture interpretation.The author accompanied the group to a tour in Torun,which involves the interpreting of attractions and cultural customs.This report is based on the interpreting practice.And through the analysis of specific cases,some errors are classified,the causes of the errors are analyzed,and the improvement measures are explored.The major focus of this report are the difficulties in the tour interpreting,the interpreting strategies and the differences between Chinese and Western cultures.Redundancy,omission,accent recognition and cultural differences are common problems in this interpreting practice,and they are important for the author to analyze problems and sum up experience.In addition,the author should master some interpreting strategies,such as paraphrase,transliteration,and cross-cultural awareness.Finally,the report analyzes the cultural differences encountered in the practice,and how to reduce interpretation errors caused by cultural differences and improve professional skills effectively.The author made a summary on the experience of the liaison interpreting,and this practical experience can provide a reference for future interpreting practice.
